By all appearances, Shyla Ball has an enviable life a loyal boyfriend, a great job, and family that loves her. Strapped: This book started out cute and cuddly, but ended on a dark, dirty, and naughty note. Secrets and dark pasts converge on the main characters of this book and threaten to ruin their relationship. Nina’s background in psychology helps her to create characters that are mysterious, but relatable; characters that you want to delve deeper into in an effort to understand what drives them or has caused them to be the dark person they’ve become. I felt on edge as I read this book because I was fascinated with the characters and where the story would take them. The way the book ended gave me chills.Strapped Down: After reading Strapped Down I feel it's only appropriate to sit in a dark corner and rock myself until my sanity has been restored. This book is phenomenal...It's dark, extremely dark and eye opening...What if Eric wasn't lying about Taylor being controlling and manipulative? What if Eric wasn't the one who raped and recorded Shyla? I literally have chills running down my spine after coming to the realization of the depths that Taylor would go through to get what he wants. My mind is so blown, I don't know what to expect in unStrapped. And let's not even talk about the last line of the book, "He is infected."
unStrapped: Like the other novels in this series, unStrapped is full of twists and slow reveals. unStrapped was by far my favorite and the darkest novel in this series. Secrets and dark pasts plague the main characters as others continue to ruin their relationship, however, it only serves to push them together and strengthen the bond shared between them. Taylor and Shyla went through hell and back to get their much deserved happily ever after.
Nina's background in psychology helps to create a phenomenally dark story full of complex characters that will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

The Strapped series pulls you in from the first page. It has so many twists and turns, throughout the book. Your stomach will be in knots.
Shyla and Taylor have many issues between them and the way Nina writes is explosive. You are drawn into their world, which is dark. Did I always like Taylor, yes in a twisted way. I wanted them to find their way into the light.
I had so many emotions reading this. I even wanted to throw my kindle a few times. This is definitely a brilliant book to read. Five stars just did not seem enough!!!
Strapped for me was sexy, erotic, fast paced, F'ed upness (is that a word?), and I loved it. Shyla was just existing, even in her relationship she was just settling, until she bumped into Taylor, a rich, gorgeous, successful man, who had to have her any way he could. Learning about Taylor's past, made me love him even more, ( I love F'ed up men for some reason), and the way he cared for and handled Shyla was tender and tough, and that pushed me over the top for him. Shyla comes with a past too, and that made me understand her and come to actually care for her.
Strapped Down is hot, and muddled, and more intense than Strapped ever thought of being. Taylor and Shyla have that chemistry that not only makes you crave more of them, but leaves you jealous of them as well.
I think we knew there was darkness about Taylor Holden in Strapped, but not until this book do we see how deep that darkness really is. Shyla is not exactly broken, but not far from it, and at some points in this book, I believed she was completely destroyed, only to have her surprise me and come back for more.
There seems to be a power struggle of sorts going on throughout the entire book, who has it, who wants it, who is relinquishing it. There never seems to be an absolute solution, but there is plenty of compromise.
Strapped Down is a book about taking it to the next level, (in every way conceivable), there is love, and steamy sex scenes, heartbreak, and jaw dropping moments that you never see coming until they are upon you.
Once again Nina G Jones, has grabbed my attention, and left me begging for more, the combination of humor and intense moments are a great counter weight to each other, and keeps the reader invested in the story and the characters all the way to the last period of the book.
Unstrapped ….well let’s just say that this book took me on a journey I never expected… Sometimes people are who they are with, and other times people just need to have the right person to bring out the real person. This is so true with Shyla and Taylor. I am having a hard time writing this review without giving anything away, so let me just tell you, the direction this takes shocked me, the ending moved me, and there are so many ups and downs you will think you were on an elevator throughout the book. Its action packed, and full of that special Nina G Jones humor, touching moments, moments of brilliant clarity, and some of the hottest steamiest scenes I have ever read.
Thank you Nina for this series, you have gained a fan for life!
This story has many twists and turns. Kept me on my toes. Very dark. The sex scenes felt like you were there. I felt what the characters felt.
Could use more editing.
So this book was not the best I have read. It did not get me excited and more than not I wanted to put the book down
It was a good read. A bit over the top at times. Didn't care for Shy. Thought she was whiny at times. I loved Tyler. There were some well written sexy scenes in those books. Again, I think this would've been so much better had it been reduced to 2 books.
This isn't as good as the author's other book. It drags on with typical "surprises" and there really isn't any character development. I'd loved one of her other dark erotic books but this one leaves a lot to be desired in reading material and erotica.
Ok, at first I thought it was a spoof of 50 Shades of Grey? But it is SO MUCH MORE. Brilliantly written, you really get to understand the depth of insecurity and naivety of Shyla, you get to understand her maturing and growing into her own Dark side. She is a strong Female character that I found absolutely OWNED her character in this book. Taylor leads us into the depths of Acceptable Deviance with such ease that's it's still easy to find him a "Good, normal" person. Well worth buying and I am sorry that I have finished the book. Brilliant writer, I have already bought another book written by her and will start reading it today!
