A well written fantasy adventure for young readers. I would have loved this read to me at bedtime when I was a child. The characters are well described and believable and the adventure that they are thrown into is a good one.

Dragon stories have always fascinated me and this one came to me as a free book on .
Its about Renick who is apprentice on Dragon training, Thane a warrior and laney who is apprentice healer.
The Dragon airship carrying these 3 gets ambushed and they are left stranded in a forest. They find a young dragon whose mother has been killed.
Saving themselves from the Hunters and Horrin , the trio reach a the Dragon hideout.
They come to now the Magic dragons are not dead.
They end up becoming member of a dragon clan and Trusted of the Dragon.
The Book is short and sweet with the chemistry between the three the highlight of the book. The adventure part is not too great but still enjoyable.
The language is simple and book moves at decent pace.
Some elements of the book and lovable, like the chemistry between Laney and Plyth. A dragon Gifting Heart Stone to laney.

This book held my attention due to the compassion shown by the three unlikely teens. They came from different backgrounds and they managed to fold together like a map thats been folded out and you try to fold it back, complicated but doable. I enjoyed it and if the other ones are priced reasonable I will surly get them.
I have loved Book 1 & 2. Just finished 2. This is a fast moving books who's leads characters are two boys and a girl who learned quickly the need of others help no matter sex or statis even after returning to their regulars lifes. Easy read and captivated me have to go on line and get book 3.
I just love this book and can't wait for the next one. The story was very well written. I liked how the author didn't force the reader to see through the antagonist's perspective. Could not put it down. Great for youth readers. Clean language, no real violence.
Renick and Lainey are just traveling in a dragon basket. Young in there teens they don't know each other. At that time dragons are just animal of burden. Their adventure begins when they crash landed an life changes, dragons speak and become family, a first book begins.
Aimed more for late elementary/middle school readers this book revolves around an apprentice dragon breeder, adolescent healer, and a 15-year old squire finding their way thru the forest back to human civilization. Was generally well-written, my favorite passage being "Now that the two of you have wasted the day fixing a broken wing, can we please continue on our journey? I prefer to keep to one hopeless task at a time." Those that aren't fond of cliffhangers will have to wait for what is surely a sequel. A good book that I would give a solid three stars.
